New Delhi: Google is celebrating India’s Republic Day 2023 on Thursday, January 26 with a special doodle illustrated by Ahmedabad, Gujarat-based guest artist Parth Kothekar. The specialty of today’s doodle is that it is made from intricately hand-cut paper. In addition, many elements of the Republic Day parade have been added to the artwork, including the Rashtrapati Bhavan (where the president lives), the India Gate, the CRFP marching contingent and motorcyclists.

“To celebrate the National Day, there are several parades across the country, the largest of which takes place on Rajpath, a ceremonial boulevard in New Delhi. After a ceremonial laying of wreaths in honor of fallen soldiers, regiments of the Indian Armed Forces and tableaus representing cultural and historical heritage march down the street. The Beating Retreat ceremony will conclude the festivities on the evening of January 29. The saffron, white and green Indian flag is raised as the Indian national anthem plays,” Google India wrote alongside the special doodle.

The entire nation celebrates the 74th Republic Day on Thursday, January 26 with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi is the guest of honor for the 74th Republic Day celebrations.
“India obtained its freedom from the British Empire in 1947 and soon after began drafting its constitution. India’s Constituent Assembly took two years to discuss, amend and approve the government document, and when it was passed, India became the country with the longest constitution. The adoption of this document paved the way for democracy and empowered Indian citizens to elect their own representatives,” added Google India.
