Virat Kohli’s record in Adelaide Oval: India’s talisman is likely to remain in superb form in Australia – Check Stats | Cricket News

India is all set to take on Bangladesh in its fourth match of the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup. The match will take place on Wednesday (November 2) at the Adelaide Oval. India played their previous matches in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. This is India’s first time playing in Adelaide and former India captain Virat Kohli will be preparing for this. Adelaide Oval is one of the most favored areas of Virat in Australia. To make the misery in Bangladesh even greater, Virat is in superb form at this World Cup with two goals out of fifty against the Netherlands and Pakistan. So far, the Indian talisman has scored 156 runs in three innings. Virat had a Test century on this ground in 2012. On the same ground he was India’s first captain. In that game, he scored centuries in both innings.

In ODIs and T20Is he has performed exceptionally well at the Oval. In 2016 Virat scored 90 runs against Australia on this ground. Virat also has a century against Pakistan in the Oval in the 2015 ODI World Cup. In 2019 Virat scored 104 here against Australia. Virat played nine games in Adelaide, scoring 843 points. In four ODIs he scored 244 runs with two centuries, in Tests he hit three hundred to score 509 runs and in T20Is Virat has 90 neither out at this location. Virat is also all set to become the highest-scoring scorer in T20 WCs. Mahela Jayawardene from Sri Lanka currently holds the record.

Interestingly, even after their defeat to South Africa, Team India’s qualifying fate remains in their own hands. Rohit Sharma and Co. however, can no longer afford to slip. India now becomes Bangladesh on November 2 and Zimbabwe on November 6.

The bigger picture: To top the Group 2 points list, India has South Africa either needing or losing to Pakistan or the Netherlands when the Proteas face the two sides.
