The fact that Surya hit 68 sixes in 2022 tells you how dangerous he was with the bat in the year in T20Is. 68 is the most sixes anyone has hit in a calendar year. He destroyed two T20I hundreds and nine half centuries.

SKY had a fantastic 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, scoring three fifties in 6 innings and averaging 60 while playing at a ridiculous average of 189.68. His range of shots led the great Virat Kohli to call one of his innings “video game”-esque.

Surya recorded his second ton against New Zealand to end the year. In the process, he also became the top-ranked hitter in the format with a career-best 890 runs. He is currently at the top with 902 points.

His first ton vs England in Nottingham when he hit 117 off just 55 balls. This was probably his best shot of the year as he came against T20 World Champions and one of England’s top white-ball teams.

His brilliant innings almsot took India to a phenomenal win from a tight position of 31 for 3 as he chased a huge target of 216 runs. Surya hopes to continue doing the same work for India in the coming years.
