IND vs NZ 3rd ODI: Ishan Kishan sacrifices his wicket for Virat Kohli after a bad call while running between the wicket – Watch | Cricket news

Ishan Kishan, who was out for 17 in the third ODI against New Zealand, looked to give up his wicket to former skipper Virat Kohli. Kishan tapped the ball on the third pitch of the 35th over and immediately screamed for a run. Kohli sprinted out of his stance and approached the end of the striker. Quickly grabbing the ball, covering fielder Henry Nicholls handed it to the wicket-keeper, who then ran Kishan. Replays proved that Kishan gave up his wicket for Kohli. Kishan had little trouble returning to his fold. However, he let Kohli go to the other side.

On his way back to the pavilion, the wicket-keeper batsman expressed disappointment to Kohli while clearly annoyed. Kishan took 24 balls to score 17 runs, so he didn’t really have a spotless stay in the middle. After Kishan left, Kohli was given a lot of responsibility but only managed to score 9 more runs before being knocked out for 36 runs off 27 balls.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill had a fantastic day in the middle, scoring hundreds, but other hitters struggled to hit high totals. The first ODI century was scored by Rohit since January 2020, who hit 101 off 85 balls. In ODI cricket, Gill, who has a great run, achieved his third century of the year. He had again reached the three-digit mark after starting the series with a double century. 212 runs were collected for the first wicket by Rohit and Gill. Since then, India has lost 4 wickets for 72 runs.

With a win in the third ODI, India will beat New Zealand in the series. India continues to score regularly and the Men in Blue will try to cross the 350 run threshold. It’s up to Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya to lead the squad to a high total.
