Trisha Krishnan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan pose for selfie on Ponniyin Selvan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha Krishnan are gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated film Ponniyin Selvan. Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus marks the first time the two actresses have shared the screen. While fans wait for the film, Trisha Krishnan recently took to her Instagram handle and shared a selfie with her co-star Aishwarya from the film’s sets. In the photo, Trisha was seen surrounded by Aishwarya’s arm as they posed for the selfie. Both actresses were dressed as their respective movie characters. She captioned the photo: “Ash with a hug emoji.”

Shortly after the photo was torn, fans flooded the comments section with love for both actresses.

Commenting on the post, one user wrote, “I can’t remember the Queen being able to take selfies! But in all seriousness, you both look incredible,” while another comment read: “Two two…I love of you two.” A third wrote: “Most beautiful and my favorite actresses ever! I can’t wait to see this movie.”

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with NDTV, Trisha shared her experiences with Aishwarya and talked about the bond they developed during their collaboration. “Luckily I met and communicated with her on day one of my shoots. She’s beautiful inside and out, I don’t even need to say that. The point is, this was a challenge because we don’t like each other too much in this movie, but we got along pretty well on set. There were times when Mani sir would come and say, listen, you guys are taking too much, stop talking, I can’t have this camaraderie for my scene,” she said.

In PS 1, Trisha will play Princess Kundavai, while the Mani Ratnam director will see Aishwarya in the role of antagonist Queen Nandini. The film also stars Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala and Prakash Raj. The film hits theaters on September 30.
