Police said the single mother committed suicide after killing her children due to financial problems

In a tragic incident, a single mother killed her two children by throwing them into the Godavari River before jumping to death in Telangana.

According to the police, Manasa, 27, married Venkateswar from Kosgi in Mahabubnagar district ten years ago. The couple was blessed with two children Baladitya (8) and Bhavya Sri (7). Due to Venkateswar’s ill health, the family moved to Nizamabad five years ago and stayed with Manasa’s brother Sandeep.

Meanwhile, Venkateswar passed away three years ago and Manasa moved into a rented house. She started working in a mall in Nizamabad to make ends meet.

On January 23, Manasa told her brother that she was going to work. However, she took her children out of school and they reached the famous temple city of Basar in the Nirmal district by bus.

She fed her children on the banks of the Godavari River and then threw them into the river before jumping in.

Based on the mobile phone number written on the children’s notebooks in their school bags, the pilgrims informed their relatives about the incident.

Mudhole Circle Superintendent of Police Vinod Reddy and Sub-Inspector Mahesh arrived on the scene and gathered the details of the pilgrims. The sub-inspector said on the basis of the complaint of Manasa’s elder brother Sandeep that the single mother died by suicide after killing her children due to financial problems.

The police have reported the incident.
