The end of the International Film Festival of India, also known as IFFI 2022, has left many across India unhappy. IFFI 2022 Chief Judge Nadav Lapid’s poignant remark on Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ is met with massive opposition from both Indians and Israeli diplomats. Israel’s consul general in Mumbai, Kobbi Shoshani, responded that using a word like “propaganda” to label “The Kashmir Files” is incorrect. “When I saw the film, tears welled up in my eyes. It was not an easy movie to watch. I think it was also shown in Israel. We are Jews who have experienced terrible things and I think we should share the suffering of others. It is his personal opinion and has nothing to do with Israel,” he said on Nov. 29. Responding to allegations that Nadav Lapid’s speech was pre-planned, the Consul General said: ‘The issue is a political one in India. I won’t say much about whether Lapid’s comments were a pre-planned thing or not.
