He said: “My focus has always been on consistency. At an international level you can’t afford to give too many loose balls. I want to be good at bowling with the new ball and with the old ball. I want to pick wickets or checking runs as needed.” Arshdeep went on to say: “Paras Mhambrey worked with me on my run-up. He said if I go straight I get more consistency with my line. You can’t afford bad lines on Australian wickets, so I’m doing my best to get straight and I can see the results, but I hope to do better.”

Arshdeep also spoke about how he is acclimating himself to the conditions in Australia and how he is trying to control his height, saying: “The whole team has prepared well for the World Cup. We reached Perth about a week earlier and were working on our lengths because everyone was different heights. So while practicing we were able to figure out the lengths with bounce. I think with good preparation we get good results.”
