Speaking about expanding rail connectivity to Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Northeast Frontier Railway General Manager Anshul Gupta said on Nov. 14 that two rail routes will be completed by March 2023. “Bangladesh already connected with Haldibari (WB). I hope the work will be completed till Nepal Custom Yard in December and Biratnagar in March,” he added. “In terms of connectivity with Bhutan, research on the first rail connectivity has started. It will be completed in March. Connectivity will be from Kokrajhar (Assam) to Gelephu (Bhutan). We hope that once the project is approved, the work will be completed within 2-2.5 years,” he added.
