The final day of the 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage has arrived. Out of the 32 teams, 14 teams have already sealed their spot in the next leg, with two more to join to complete the line-up for the round of 16 starting tomorrow. The group stage has seen many shocking events, with Germany the latest casualty as they crashed out of the tournament last night.
From group H, favorites Portugal have already secured their place in the last 16, but the remaining three – Uruguay, Ghana and South Korea – are still battling for the other spot.

This is how they can qualify for the next round:-
Points table group H
With two of the two wins, Portugal are currently in first place with six points and will like to finish high. They are followed by Ghana in second, South Korea in third while Uruguay languishes at the bottom of the table.
Uruguay vs Ghana: How can they qualify?
Ghana (score: 3)
In their last group match, Ghana will face Uruguay. For Ghana, the assignment is simple: beat Uruguay and the place is theirs. However, in a draw, Ghana has four points and Uruguay three. And they will have to pray that South Korea, currently on one point, loses to Portugal or draws. In the event that South Korea’s match ends in a draw, the team with a better goal difference will qualify.
Uruguay (score: 1)
The fate of Uruguay is not in their hands. They not only have to beat Ghana, but also improve their goal difference. And then they also need South Korea to lose or draw with Portugal.
Should South Korea and Uruguay both win their respective matches, they will be tied. A higher goal difference will then be the deciding factor.
A draw or defeat leads to elimination.
South Korea (score: 1)
They face Portugal and need to beat them to get to four points. Their fate then depends on whether Uruguay beats Ghana or not, plus goal difference. A win for Uruguay puts them level with South Korea.
A defeat to Portugal will take South Korea out of the World Cup.
