A contractor’s timely response saved the life of a young man who attempted suicide in a pond due to family problems. The good-hearted contractor and the brave Samaritan also secured a job in his company to the man in dire need.
Born in the city of Patancheru, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad in Telangana, 30-year-old Bhanuprasad had been upset by the events in his family of late.
Unable to bear the suffering he is facing, Bhanuprasad decides to take the extreme step of committing suicide. He took his two-wheeler and rode it to the city of Jogipet and reached the Annasagar pond. He took off his shoes and jumped into the pond.
Meanwhile, Rajender Singh Bhati, who has worked as a contractor for the National Highway Corporation, noted that Bhanuprasad drowned in the pond when he went to Sangareddy from Naryankhed in a four-wheeler.
With the help of two youths, he rescued Bhanuprasad and retrieved him from the pond. The contractor advised the young man on the importance of life and motivated him to face the daily problems with courage. Rajender Singh called Bhanuprasad’s relatives and had him talk to them. The contractor secured him a job in his company and gave him Rs 500 to cover his costs.
After a phone call from Bhanuprasad’s relatives to call 100, the police reached Annasagar pond and took him to the police station.
