Students at an agricultural college in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir protested on Friday against the alleged sexual harassment of a student by a professor, officials said.
Authorities have suspended the suspect and launched an investigation, they said.
The suspect is also head of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Communication at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST).
The students demanded strict action against the defendants.

Police have also registered a case and are investigating, the official added.
In an order, the clerk of the university said that the suspect has been suspended with immediate effect.
“He will remain associated with KVK, Pombai, Kulgam,” the order read.
