Father of the bride and newlywed father-in-law Suniel Shetty has shared wisdom and blessings for daughter Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul, who tied the knot in a private ceremony on Monday. The actor posted a picture of the bride and groom holding hands as they take in the wedding pheras and wrote: “A hand to hold and a reason to believe because sometimes the right place is a person and the ingredients are love and trust. After the wedding ceremony at the family’s farmhouse in Khandala on Monday, Suniel Shetty and son Ahan distributed sweets to the media at the venue. “I’m now a father-in-law,” Suniel Shetty told the media, adding that he’d like to ditch the ‘father-in-law’ bit and keep ‘father’ because it’s a role he excels at – as his post today shows.
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul posed for pictures after the wedding – she in pale pink Anamika Khanna lehenga, he in white. The newlyweds posted a set of pictures from the wedding, including the one shared today by Suniel Shetty. The wedding album was captioned: “Today, with our most beloved, we were married in a home that has given us immense joy and serenity. With a heart filled with gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness.”
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul’s wedding was attended by only very close family and friends, among them Diana Penty, Krishna Shroff, Anshula Kapoor and Anushka Ranjan with husband Aditya Seal. Cricketers Varun Aaron and Ishant Sharma, with wife Pratima Singh, also attended.
A reception is likely to be held after the IPL season, Suniel Shetty said after the wedding.
