How 'It All Began' for Soni Razdan 'As an Actor.'  See her post

Marking biography con Prithviraj Kapoor’s 116th birthday, his family and grandson Kunal R Kapoor started the Prithvi Festival on Thursday. Actress Soni Razdan, who attended the event’s opening night and caught up with “many theater personalities” she hadn’t “met in years,” shared a note about her “fulfilling evening” on Instagram. Soni Razdan also revealed where it all started for her as an actress. She credits the beginning of her journey as an artist to iconic theater director-actor-filmmaker Satyadev Dubey’s 1965 play The band Darwaze. It was an Urdu adaptation of French playwright-novelist Jean-Paul Sartres No exit. Satyadev Dubey directed it with Sulbha Deshpande, Alaknanda Samarth and Amrish Puri.

Sharing a picture of a framed picture of Prithviraj Kapoor with a garland on it, Soni Razdan wrote, “Where it all began…. As an actor for me with Satyadev Dubey’s The band Darwaze.” She added, “And now, as a family connection.” Her daughter, actress Alia Bhatt – married Prithviraj Kapoor’s great-grandson Ranbir Kapoor this year.

Soni Razdan also thanked Kunal R Kapoor for a “super night”: “Thank you Kunal for a super night… great food – catching up with so many theater personalities you haven’t met in years – and of course the lovely performance by Pooja Gaitonde. .. Such a satisfying evening!”

Soni Razdan took to his Instagram Stories to share glimpses of the opening night of Prithvi Festival, which ends on November 14.


She also paid tribute to Prithviraj Kapoor. Her caption read, “Where it all began, for me as an actor…and now as a family. Happy birthday Prithviraj Kapoor. You had no idea the legacy you were creating!”


Soni Razdan met Ila Arjun, KK Raina and Ishitta Arun at Prithvi Festival. She shared a photo with them on her Instagram stories and wrote about their achievements from years ago. “Catch up! We did a musical many years ago at Prithvi theatre… Jethwa Ujli. I still remember the songs!” read the caption.


The opening day of the Prithvi festival was also attended by Dia Mirza and Lara Dutta. Here’s what Dia shared from her wonderful evening.
