Gauri Khan was recently on Karan Johar’s chat show Coffee with Karan 7, where she cryptically spoke about the hard times the family had to go through after the postman Aryan’s arrest last year. Aryan Khan was arrested in a drug case by the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) last year following a raid on a cruise ship. He got a clean slate from NCB this year. The investigating agency did not name him as an accused. On Coffee with Karan, host Karan Johar referred to the crisis without mentioning Aryan. “It’s been such a tough time for (Shah Rukh Khan) not just professionally, but recently with everything the family’s been going through personally. You’ve all come out so strong. As a family. I know it hasn’t been easy. I know you as a mother and him as a father and all of us as if we are members of the same family.I also feel that I am the godparents of your children. It has not been easy but Gauri I have seen you come out even stronger . What do you have to say about your own way of dealing with hard times when families go through something like this.”
Speaking about the situation, Gauri Khan told Karan Johar, “Yes, as a family we have been through… I think nothing can be worse than what we have just been through, of course, as a mother, as a parent. But today, where we stand as a family, I can say that we are in a great space where we feel loved by everyone.”
Gauri Khan added: “And all our friends and so many people that we didn’t know. So many messages and so much love and I just feel blessed. And I want to say that I’m grateful to all the people who have helped us through this.”
Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan are parents to Aryan, 24, (their eldest child), who graduated from the University of Southern California. Their daughter Suhana will soon make her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies. SRK and Gauri are also parents to AbRam, 9, who attends school in Mumbai.
