Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Trailer Teases New Black Panther, Gives First Glimpse of Ironheart -Newzflash

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever just got a new trailer – in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Following the initial reveal at San Diego Comic-Con this year, Marvel Studios has dropped the trailer for the second Black Panther film, which focuses on the antagonist Namor, the Sub-Mariner (Tenoch Huerta). Ryan Coogler is directing the film from his own script and is trying to keep intact the legacy of actor Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020 due to colon cancer. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever opens in theaters worldwide on November 11.

The trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever opens on a somber note with a death procession for T’Challa, the former ruler and incarnation of Black Panther. Marvel Studios clearly made the wise choice not to recast Boseman, instead letting his kingdom overcome new threats on its own. Among them is our new villain — antihero to be specific — Namor (Huerta), the mutant son born to a human father and a Talocan princess. “His people don’t call him general or king. They call him K’uk’ulkan. The Feathered Serpent God,” M’Baku (Winston Duke) tells his team in preparation for the conflict.

As Namor rushes to the surface world, the trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever notes that killing him is not an option as it would lead to “eternal war”. Canonically, both Wakanda and Talocan (Atlantis in the comics) have an intertwined history, with both expecting an attack from both sides. Add to this the fact that Namor grew up hating surface dwellers and that Black Panther maintained a secret database on the Atlantean weakness. Having said that, in the upcoming Black Panther the sequel, Atlanta has been replaced with Talocan, one of the underworld kingdoms of the Aztec codices.

The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer then cuts to show action sequences as external human forces break in hoping to extract Vibranium. It is never revealed if Namor is involved in this third-party attack, but it is more risky now for the Wakandans to leave their headquarters. That Black Panther the sequel also has the added responsibility of introducing Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) aka Ironheart, who is seen jetpacking across the sky in the beefier Iron Man suit. The Black Panther 2 trailer closes with an image of Shuri (Letitia Wright) taking on the role of the new Black Panther in a sleek new suit embroidered with golden stitching.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever also features returning actors Angela Bassett as Wakandan Queen Ramonda, Danai Gurira as General Okoye, Lupita Nyong’o as War Dog Nakia and Martin Freeman as CIA agent Everett Ross. Daniel Kaluuya, who played former leader of the Wakandan Border Tribe, W’Kabi in the 2018 film, will not return for the sequel due to scheduling conflicts with his new Jordan Peele film, Nope.

Marvel also dropped a new poster for the film, which you can see at the bottom of this article. In other news, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was revealed to be the longest non-Avengers film, according to new listings in US theaters. The sequel is 2 hours and 41 minutes long – about 27 minutes longer than the original 2018 film.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters November 11. In India, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
